    Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Vintage Calendar Back, 10 ½ x 13 5/8 inches, marked “Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Incorporated by the State of New York, Stock Company” along the top below the punched hole for hanging, marked below the tipped in (glued only along top) lithographed image on paper “The Light That Never Fails”, probably 1920’s-30’s, missing the calendar pad that was stapled on below the image, bottom may be trimmed where the advertising for the agency would have been printed, cardboard has a textured cork like finish that has a dark brown border where the image is attached, 2 young girls in night dresses stand in a room with a red glow from a fireplace reflected off of them, a doll is on the floor lower left, and a cat is on a rug center right, in the upper right corner is a window through which you can see the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower with its lighted beacons at the top, this building built in the early 1900’s was the symbol for the companies advertising and the “Light” referred to below the image, design is evocative of home, comfort  and safety, the image is unsigned, nice early advertising calendar.
